GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

OOOOH my acheing everything...

Well, I don't think I have stated this before, but the house we purchased was a little dated and therefore needed to be updated. So, I was thinking a little renovation. Knock out some tacky light fixtures, get some new carpet, paint a few walls, get rid of the popcorn ceiling. Not to bad, right?

If that were all we were doing, it wouldn't be bad at all. In fact, we would be close to done. Ohhh boy. Did I ever not know what I was getting myself into.

We have completely stripped down ever wall in the house for repainting. There were some funky light boxes in the kitchen and all the bathrooms that got taken down. Popcorn is gone. We ripped up all the carpet, because we are getting wood floor. It's pretty! We are also putting said flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. Agh! We had tile in those places. And in the entry into the house. The tile was ugly so it had to go.

Do you know just how much work that involves? OI! We were doing it with a hammer and a pry bar for a while but that would take ages, and as soon as walls are painting, we want to lay the wood flooring down. So. Up comes the tile. We rented this machine-gun-esque thing that basically pummels the crud out of the tile, whipping it into shards and tossing them about while shaking your body all over the place.

Wes had to be at work, Curtis (my soon to be brother in law, funny guy) cut his hand open to the tendon-yuck-and Poppa C was the only guy in the house. So. I felt obligated to pick up some of the man's work. I was on that chisel machine for 9.5 hours. NINE HOURS. I had to wear safety goggles and  breathing mask (those little white thing the Japanese people wear in airports because of germs) because of all the grime that gets flung in the air. MAN is ceramic tile sharp! I have a lot of battle scars. My thumbs and hands are sore and swollen, my joints hurt, muscles I didn't know I had are sore. I defiantly did a man's work that day, and my 5'4" frame is paying for it dearly.

But it's my house dangit! The more work we do the more it seems there is, but at the same time, each big project feels so...invigorating to accomplish. We are getting soooo close. I can't wait for Wes to be able to move in.

They are doing a secret project for me as a wedding gift, btw. I am not allowed into the master bedroom until our wedding night. They are renovating it for me and I don't have a clue as to what they are doing with it. I do know that there is a gaping hole in one of the walls where there did not used to be. I am excited though. It will be a nice surprise.

Wes' sister from Austin came down with her family on Saturday to look at the house. Her husband is an architect for the very rich and says that we have a killer deal of a house. I'm excited. When we sell it we will make at least 25,000 more than we paid for it. Then I want to go to LA.

Woo-hoo!

Life Update

Well, Wes and I have a house. Neither of us has moved into it yet; it needed some serious renovating. As soon as we get walls painted and wood flooring down, he will be moving in and I will join him once we are married. Only, what 73 more days left? Wow!

It's really hard. The money is not easy to come by. We did a gig for Toyota a few weeks ago and that will be a pretty check once we get it in. Just...yeah. With all the fixing up and trying to do the wedding all at once, things are really being spread thin.

Still doing acting, still modeling. I will have a ton of GREAT pictuers to post in a few days. I am so excited. I am also with an agency now, so I'm getting paid casting notices. Tommorow I am going out for one that would pay $11,500 if I got it. WOW. I make about that in a year. Well, I make more than that a year, but I am just saying. It's exciting. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I get it!!! It would be a great thing for Wes and myself!

I've had a bridemaid drop out of my wedding :'( She couldnt help it, the place she worked rfused under all circumstances to let her have the day off. It bums me out, but what can you do? Now I have to find a replacement and that makes me a little sad.

I guess that's my update. Life is drama.

Wedded Bliss? Pre-marital STRESS!

GOOD FRICKEN GREIF.

Planning a wedding is hard! Of course, most of the things have been great. I LOVE my dress. The church and reception site are awesome. The meal we have is phenomenal and only 12.99 per plate for steak, potatoes, veggies and bread. What a deal. We have been blessed with an amazing house that we close on tomorrow! Wes gets to move in but I’ve got exactly three months and 11 days before I get to sleep there. (I told him and his mom and sisters that I want them to decorate and transform the master suite for me. Instead of spending money we could use on a hotel room, we are going to spend our first wedded night in our own home. I think that’s special). That way it surprises me. And I do trust them on decorations. We all have the same tastes. And its just one more thing I wont have to worry about, lol.

Before I gripe, let me tell you about this house. It is a two-story, with four bedrooms...four! We have a den and a formal living room (fireplace included), with a dining room and a breakfast nook. The backyard is HUGE. Maybe I can get my dachshund back, I miss her. Ok, there are only two people living there, you say, what are we to do with four bedrooms? Well, of course there is the master suite. We will have a guest bedroom. Wes gets a study/office/library, and I FINALLY GET MY ART STUDIO! Butterflies turn in my stomach when I think about that. I can paint, sketch design and sew to my little hearts content. I want to take sewing classes and start doing designs for local theaters and films, and maybe do bridesmaid dresses or something.

Speaking of which.... the bridesmaid dresses have been THE single-most frustrating part of this. I have Wes' sisters both in it, a friend from work, and my cousin Rebekkah. Bekah (my friend) and Rebekkah (this could get confusing) have been sweet enough to say "yes, I would love to be in your wedding!" and nothing more. The sisters, however, are giving me a headache about these dern dresses. I like it and they don’t. One sister loves a dress and the other hates it. They have polar opposite body types so it is wreaking havoc on my time and sanity trying to find something that works for the both of them. I have now decided do find a dress pattern, pick out a fabric that --->I<--- like (they want velvet. WHY???) and say "Here, this is it, I don't want to hear another word about it. GO get the dern thing made". And proceed to pelt them with pebbles if they gripe at me one more time

what gets me to most upset is this. Bridesmaids are supposed to be there for the bride, to help them when they get stressed, tell them everything will be ok when it feels like it cant, help them pick out flowers and brainstorm cakes designs, address envelopes and throw wild parties (kidding). NOT to create problems and make the bride cry.

Well, this thing will all work out. It’s just hard to keep everything in perspective when this one issue is RIGHT in front of my face. It will be ok.

Good news is, my dress is in for pickup so I can start alterations! I love it! Woohoo!!!
